The health industry has done a great job at helping create unhealthy relationships with food and exercise. They are really good at taking partial information and presenting it in a way that makes you believe, ‘this is the way to succeed with being healthier’. When in fact what diet or exercise plan they have presented is unbalanced and unsustainable. Our goal is to teach you how to fuel your body in a healthy manner. We give you exercises which you are able to do anywhere anytime which help develop strength, endurance, balance, stability and mobility.
We will not give you a food plan. We will teach you what is good for your body and what’s not. We will teach you how much you should eat. We will teach you the variety of food you need to have. We will teach you how to know if you are satisfied. We will teach you what cravings mean. We will teach you how to have a healthy relationship with food. We will not tell you to eat 8 almonds, a cup of dal and 1 roti. Why? Many reasons.
Without properly testing your active and resting metabolic rates, there is no way to properly give you the right amount of calories you need. While estimates can work for the greater part of the curve, there is no one formula fits all. Also, just telling you what to eat doesn’t teach you anything at all. We all like different foods cooked different ways. You can eat healthier within your own kitchen and we will help guide you. If we always did the homework of children, they would never learn anything. Our bodies and minds are intelligent machines. We encourage you to learn to use your mind and listen to your body.
After several years, if not decades, many people have forgotten what it feels like to feel good. They have indigestion and heartburn. Some sleep poorly and have low energy. Things like this can be food related. So the first thing we want to do is do a cleanse and detox. During this time, it will be a learning opportunity for your to understand your body and what makes you feel good.
What is the difference between a cleanse and detox? They are often used as an interchangeable word. With a cleanse you want to think about your gut health. It is the cleansing of the digestive tract so we can have our stomach full of good bacteria which helps us digest food better and keeps bad bacteria from growing. A detox aims to improve the function of organs like the liver and kidneys.
We are going to take this time to clean our gut, grow healthy bacteria and support our organs to function optimally.
